TNANAF Awards Scholarship

The Northern Arizona Native-American Foundation (TNANAF) awarded a scholarship for college to Dellynn Wilson of Kayenta in a ceremony on Thursday December 10, 2009 in Flagstaff.
TNANAF Executive Director Brian Buckley and Board Members Genevieve Bennally and Constance Benally presented Dellynn Wilson with a $1,000 scholarship. Dellynn was selected based on her strong application to TNANAF.
Dellynn, a Monument Valley High School graduate, will pursue her degree in education through Dine College and Northland Pioneer College. At the ceremony she was accompanied by her parents, Linda Wilson and Lawrence Begay, her husband, Jeremy Williams, and her son, Jaython Williams.

Bonnie Vines, the Mathematics Department Chairperson at Monument Valley High School, said of Dellynn, "When I had her as an algebra student I soon noticed that she caught on to new concepts quickly. She enjoyed working with other students to solve especially challenging problems." Dellynn is considering becoming a mathematics teacher.
Founded in 2005, this is the fourth year TNANAF has granted scholarships to Native-American high school students from tribes in the northern Arizona region.
